I am Barry, and I am a photographer(HI Barry!). I have been a professional photographer for 15 years, and have been photographing families in the North DFW Metroplex since 2009. We are based in Prosper, TX(new plants from Frisco!) with my wife and two amazing boys, Cody(8) and Carson(5). We love to play games, and drive exotic sports cars around the area(and by ‘around the area’ I mean, on Forza Horizon, on our Xbox). I love to watch movies(mostly action or epics), but I also love a good drama(my favorite TV show is The West Wing!). I have an affinity for our National Parks(I’ve been to around 30 of them!) and I love what beauty is found in nature. Also, I love people! One of the highlights of my day is meeting new people, and you will find that shooting with me will be like meeting a new friend, and that is what I will consider you even as a client.

Special thanks to Steve Lamb at SLP Studios and my good friend Sammi at Oklahoma City Photography for these images. I made a plan in 2019 to lose a lot of weight, and you can read about that story here and why I did this shoot!

The Backstory...

I was born in Monroe, LA, but I call two main places my
‘growing up’ home, and that is Green River, WY, and Prattville, AL. To this day, I still LOVE the mountains and I hope to one day be there again. Prattville, AL is where my family is today, and while I didn’t go there, I love Auburn University and call myself an Auburn Tiger! WAR EAGLE! I moved to Texas in 1994 in the 10th grade and graduated here in the DFW metroplex and also attended college here locally, where I first started photography for the UTD Mercury newspaper. I began to enjoy
portraiture when I met my bride, and my wedding photographer(check him out), gave me so much grace and took me under his wing both locally and from afar,
and helped me grow. I learned that as my family grew, my love for photographing other families grew alongside that, and as such, my business has grown along with my social circle. But just so you know…I still have a small piece of my heart in Louisiana, and that resides in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome during the NFL season…WHO DAT!

my photographic style

If you have checked out my Portfolio at all, you’ll see I LOVE COLOR. Color just makes the world a better and brighter place. I love finding the most colorful places and taking my clients there. I also love to shoot ‘extremely thin’, which
means I employ a very thin aperture(in photo nerd terms f/2.8) when I shoot to get the soft milky backgrounds that everybody just loves. I would classify myself as a hybrid photographer, I do love the softness of the golden light at the end of the day, but as my journey has come along, I am so enjoying learning off camera lighting techniques both with flash and LED lighting that are giving my photos so much more than I ever thought I could, and I cannot wait to share that with you! Here are some of my favorite examples of photos that you will receive as part of a session with me! I am so thankful that you decided to stop by, and I would love it if you would contact me and schedule a shoot, as I would love to meet you!
