It’s not very often you get to shoot two models in one shoot, but was so fortunate to have Sydni contact me for a shoot with her sister! (see her sister Audri’s shoot here!). She is a beauty pageant queen from Lafayette and wanted some in her formal dresses. Gear wise I used my trusty Sony 70-200 f/2.8 GM lens on the A7R3 with the Godox AD-600.
We shot at the Woodlands Waterway, a major destination for a lot of Houston fashion photographers and a really cool area.
For Sydni, she wore three outfits, a black casual dress, an awesome peach dress made by MacDuggal, and a cool mermaid dress by Jovani! Makeup was done by Jentry Kelley, and hair by her mom Sunni!
This shoot continued to confirm that the parabolic might be my favorite modifier for people! It provides such a great light and dropoff to make my images really stand out. Of all the things that have changed my photography, OCF with this setup be the single most thing that has taken my photography to the level it’s at now.
One thing I wanted to try is to use a wide angle for a portrait. So pulled out my 20mm f/1.8 and got some wide angle work!
And of course we used the trusty 85 f/1.8. Sunni even flipped the dress for me and created a cool effect!
Much like Audri, Sydni was a joy to work with. Her personality can go from serious to joyful in a snap but she is always ready to go, and was a breeze to shoot. I can’t wait to get more! Stay tuned for more!
